Welcome to the homepage of the Bilbrook Light Railway

Wrong kind of trees on the line
New water tower for Ruby-photos to follow shortly
Current jobs  (Spring 2007)
Track
The track and trackbed have survived the Winter well. Only one bag of ballast was required to pack and level the track this Spring

Locos and Stock
All the stock is in working order. The Ruston has been run already, hopefully Ruby will be steamed very soon.

Garden
One major job was to remove the old pergola which had started to lean. In addition the leaves and twigs that fell onto the line were a problem every time I wanted to run trains. I have salvaged the plants and these will be able to grow over a new pergola built last year.

Signal and Telegraph
Disaster struck at the loco shed when a mature tree blew down in next doors garden during January. The tree leant heavily on the fence and loco shed roof causing some structural damage but more signficantly breaking the S&T connections. I have resolved to put in lineside phones at two of the signals which will mean a rewire of the whole signalling system.
