Thousand features make the Chablais region a separate ”province” within the county of Savoie. There is nothing hard, no roughness in this solid prealpine mountain range with its rugged relief.
The immense expanse which borders the North of the region, dresses it gracefully. The light, veiled but so intense, which envelops the ground sometimes softens the edges of the crests lying on the horizon, sometimes accentuate the purity of the lines.
Chablais situed North of Haute-Savoie, a department on the border with Switzerland including the French bank of the Lake of Geneva, has the town of Thonon-les-Bains as county town.
One of the greatest tourist attractions of Thonon-les-Bains is to offer at the same time the pleasures of a spa town with a wonderful lake and the mountains close by.
The surrounding mountains offer a great diversity of cycling excursions to quench everyone thirst of adventure, for beginners and experienced riders alike.
The Chablais region would certainly gain with being better known from all angles, and facing up to high expectations, one can only notice that this part of France meets all the conditions and all the needs of the travellers:

The two routes of the BCMC include the near total of the mountain roads in the Chablais region and it should be said that the organization of such tours is made to draw the attention of expert cyclists.
With the discovery of such an attractive area, one will climb each rise with a renewed pleasure, so much the plays of contrast and colours are varied, and every effort will be rewarded for having done it. You will enjoy every short break you take looking at the amazing and unforgettable views of the Lake of Geneva and its surroundings, the Aravis chains, the Mont Blanc and other high peaks.
Evian-les-Bains, Bernex, Praz-de-Lys, Megevette, Ballaison, the Cote d’Arbroz, Quincy, Plains-Joux, Vauverdanne, Sur-le-Mont : all mixed-up names, memories, so much effort... the calm waters of Lac de Montriond, the herds of goats of the Lindarets, the euphoria of the long descent of Joux Verte down to Morzine, the exhilarating slope of Savolière, the wild Ramaz, the amazing Grand-Taillet, l’Encrenaz so hard and so unknown, the harsh ride up to Joux-Plane and discover the backbreaking but fascinating Avernaz leading to the idyllic fresh pastures of Plaines-Joux!
